This cru (or vineyard) is located on the southern hillsides of Épernay, on the left bank of the river Marne, perpendicular to its course. Southeast facing plots receive much of the sun’s rays and warmth, enabling the grapes to reach perfect maturity.
The chalky subsoil here also facilitates effective natural condensation. These three criteria are essential to the vines’ growth and to ensuring that we get the best out of the three grape varieties present in the Valley (those being Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay).
Later on, during the vinification and blending processes, it is human expertise which helps reveal the character of this quality terroir. Our champagnes are aged for several months in our cool cellars. This aging method refines the wine and lends it freshness when young and round, spicy notes as it ages, making it both attractive and accessible.
